Dieting
I am really battling this diet. I am an emotional eater....I eat when I am happy, sad, angry...just name the emotion and I will eat! LOL Seriously, are there any dieting tips that you can offer? I am excercising daily now and limiting my portions. I have cut out soda and have water and an occasional glass of tea or juice. I haven't yet been able to cut my morning coffee. I don't think many people would like me very much if I were to do that! Even tasty low fat recipes would be great! Help!
Flavored?
This is a pet peeve of mine I guess. I have tried various "flavored" coffees as of late. I usually drink a few pots of coffee at home. Now I guess you can say that I "love" my coffee. I can't say that the flavored coffees are for me. I prefer regular caffinated coffee as opposed to the flavors. The most flaovr for my coffee is Coffee-Mate French Vanilla Creme. LOL! Mainly as much as I drink it I can't see paying $2 or more for a cup of it. This is my feelings and am looking for others comments as to why or why not they like flavored coffees. If you do what flavors do you like & what ones have you tried that said, EWWW not this one ever again. Thanks in advance for all responses. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!
do you drink coffe in the morning?

McDonalds goes Gourmet with Free Coffee.
"McDonald's will support the new product with a 13-day free coffee sampling event starting Nov. 11"Awesome, I pass McDonald's every day walking to school. Free coffee for 13 days can't be beat.
Are you Picky about the blend or brand of your COFFEE?
This is a personal question, I know. Are you someone who shops and may buy the occasional gourmet blend that is on sale, but then stick to Chock-Full-O' Nuts Brand when you can't afford the others? I tend to be such a person. Don't get me wrong, I DO love coffee. But I think my all-time favorite everyday coffee is Chock-Full-O-nuts! It actually doesn't have any "Nuts" in it. But it is a popular NY brand that has been around since the 20's. It IS the "Heaven;y coffee."I do Like 8-0'clock Bean as well. If Starbucks is on sale, I will buy that. But, really, I could survive on Chock-Full-O Nuts quite well.Question: What is your all around bargain basement favorite? Or, are you a coffee snob or slu+? Someone who will do ANYTHING for gourmet coffee? Please DO tell!
A few ways to save money
So I have really been trying to watch my budget. I am always looking for ways to save money. I came across an artical that gave me a few hits I thought I would share with you.Bottled water -Costs about $4 a case you could buy a Brita pictcher for about $20 and filter all your water. Saving you a lot of money over the years that it lasts.Coffee -So I completely understand wanting to go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts for coffee but if you spend the 12 or 14 bucks on gourmet coffee you pay about 33 cents a cup verses 3 dollars. That a was good one for me. I don't usually buy gourmet coffee because of the price tag on it but I guess to "treat" myself why not. I'd rater treat myself to a pound of coffee for 12 bucks then one cup for 3.Music -Ok so the newest whatever you like just came out. You go to Target or WalMart and spend 17 bucks on the cd but you only like one or two songs. How often does that happen to you. I know my husband does it all the time. Instead of spending money on songs you dont like. Go to itunes or amazon or even walmart.com and get just the songs you like for 99 cents!ATM fees -Using your...
10 ways of cutting back on spending
I just received this. Might be useful to many of us in these tough economic times. ________________________Simplify your life by cutting out those needless extra expenses. Here are 10 ways to cut back on the money you don't need to spend.Number Ten: Pay in cash -- this means you will always know exactly how much money you have. With credit cards, debt can add up quickly and you may not pay them off as fast as you would like to. When you pay in cash, it's also a great feeling because you know it's done and paid for and you won't have any bills piling up.Number Nine: Don't get someone else to do it for you -- stop paying extra to get things done for you when you can do them yourself. Instead of automatically taking your shirts to the dry cleaners, wash them by hand and hang them to dry.Number Eight: Eat out less -- Visit your local supermarket and pick up fresh ingredients to make homemade meals. You can also take your leftovers to work or have them the next day for dinner.Number Seven: Shop with a purpose -- Whether you're grocery shopping or attending to other errands, it's best to shop with a list. A list reminds you of your reason for shopping and to...
For coffee lovers, what's you fave coffee shop?
My love affair with coffee started when I was in college. The exams proved to be difficult thus I see the need to use something to keep me awake. Then it was just plain instant coffee, then the 3-in-1 coffee sachets, and now the gourmet coffee. A few years back, we experienced the appearance of a lot of coffee shops. Whenever time permits. Our gang usually spends time in several coffee shops mostly in starbucks. How about you, whats you fave coffee shop?
Do you love your coffee??
I grew up in a home where my mother would make a pot of coffee in the AM, in the afternoon and another in the evening. She drank the stuff black and would let it get cold before drinking it. YUCK! The only time I ever drank black coffee was when I was trying to lose weight.Anyway, I grew up to be a major coffee drinker. So for all of you coffee drinkers out there, why do you drink coffee?? Is it to "wake" up in the morning or are you more of a gourmet coffee drinker?Over the years I have ingested so much of the stuff it no longer gives me a "jolt" and I have become more of a gourmet coffee drinker. I love to try new flavors and flavors of creamers (Marshmallow mocha is my fav right now)So what's your deal with Java?
Thick, frothy coffee
I would like to know if any of you knows how to make real thick, and frothy instant coffee without using any coffee machine/maker, or frother. My husband taught me how to make frothy coffee by mixing and stirring sugar and coffee with a little water until it becomes thick and fluffly and the color turns light. Then slowly pour hot milk. However, I really like the texture and taste of gourmet coffee and am wondering perhaps there is a homemade recipe for this.
