| | | Cocolate and Coffee Beans | | By mistake when I bought coffee yesterday I picked up whole bean sinstead of ground coffee. The store refused to let me exchange it out when I went back for ground coffee I could use in my coffee maker, so now I have an $8 bag of beans in my kitchen with no grinder. Since Valentine's Day is coming soon I thought maybe it would be cute to make chocolate covered coffee beans and put them in cute containers as gifts for my daughters teachers at school. Has anyone every tried making these? Is it easy to do? Also, any other suggestions for ways I can use these beans would be greatly appreciated. | |
| | Starbucks or Tim Horton's? | | My husband and I want to get some new (ground) coffee and don't know what kind to buy. We used to get generic brands, which were average, but now that we're drinking more coffee, we want to invest in something good! The two brands we were thinking are Starbucks and Tim Horton's. Have you had either of these kinds? What do you think of them? My real question is, what kind should we get? I want to consider price, taste, etc. With all these factors considered, which kind would you buy? I know both are a little more expensive than your average case of ground coffee, but it sure beats the generic kinds! I've had Starbucks coffee made fresh directly from the coffee shop, but not the regular ground coffee you can make yourself. I'm not sure exactly what it tastes like. I've had Tim Horton's homemade coffee, but not the kind from the coffee shop. I think Tim Horton's coffee is very unique because it doesn't have too strong of an aftertaste like coffee normally does, but Starbucks brand seems to have an excellent taste as well. Please help us with our dilemma! If you have another brand of coffee you would suggest... | |
| | I needs me my coffee! | | I got up this morning, semi bright eyed and bushy tailed. Fresh brewed coffee would complete the deal, I would be fully awake and alert. I poured the water and prepared the coffee in the paper. A sprinkle of cinnamon on the bottom, two heaping tablespoons of regular eggnog flavored coffee, and two heaping tablespoons of decaf.I pushed the button, and an orange glow appeared throughout the base of the white plastic contraption. I stared at it momentarily, then snapped to action. Dear Lord, is it the wiring caught fire in the wall? I checked for heat on the cord at the base of the pot and at the wall, it was cold. Phwew. I turned off the pot (why I didn't do this before I do not know. Perhaps I did not yet have coffee to wake me fully) then I turned the pot on again. I left it on, staring at it. Nothing was happening. I did not hear percolating, the water level never changed. The base of the pot that is supposed to be heated was just a little warm and never did get hot. What am I going to do now? Then I remembered I had purchased some of those instant coffee bags. They have ground coffee inside a teabag like wrapping. The coffee is weak, but it will do for now.I remember... | |
| | Would you drink something that came out of a coffee bag? | | Well would you. Dawnld tried to offer me coffee from a coffee bag, that is the same concept as a tea bag, but with coffee in it. The idea strikes me as rather odd. We have real ground coffee made in a cafetiere, we have wonderful Greek coffee made in a brik, some others even have instant coffee. But who is out there actually drinking coffee from coffee bags.Own up do you know about them, have you seen them, have you tried them, or would you just run away in horror looking for the nearest beans? | |
| | Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean. | | I hope all my friends here are like the coffee bean. My friend just sent this to me, I want to be like a coffee bean. Like lots of us, I have had alot of crap going on in my life. Lets all be like the coffee bean. I just wanted to share this with all of you. Take care fellow coffee beans. Carrots, Eggs, and Coffee A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again. A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up; she was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl.. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a... | |

After subjected to the boiling water, carrots softttten and became weak. The egg had benn fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee bean were unique, however. After they were inthe boiling water, they had changed the water.
which are you? when adeversity comes, how do you respond? you want to be carrot, which seems hard, but with pain and adversity and become soft? I think all want to studay to the egg and coffee.Especally thecoffee can tastes good when it in the hot water, which reaches 212 degrees.
Ask youself how you handle adversity. Are you a carrot,an egg,or a coffee bean?
| | I recently just got a new coffee maker... | | What is the best kind of ground coffee that you buy? Do you buy from Dunkin Donuts? The internet? The grocery store? Do you buy a specific brand or do you buy per pound? I want to try some new coffees! | |
| | Roll up the rim is back! ( in canada) | | Not to sure about you but it seems when roll up the rim is going on we seem to spend more money on Timmy's. For starters I am a Tim Horton's coffee drinker, I buy my own can of ground coffee from the stores once a month, have a fresh cup bought out usually 4 times a week. Well since roll up the rim is back we tend to stop in there a lot more often. I don't think it is a bad thing becuase the money just comes out of the pop money that we normally would be getting at the corner store through out the nights. ( My bf and I work nights in a truck together so we are driving for 10 hours a night.) Do you tend to buy more coffee now that the rim game is on? Have you ever won any of the big prizes or know someone who has? I have only ever won the food prizes and my parents won a tims card this year right away.
Please check out my picture in this discussion. I made it for everyone here!!<3
