| Movie Review: Speed Racer | | Well, finally got a working copy of the DVD to watch this show.
This show has some pretty exciting scenes. Given that it is mostly filmed in a blue screen environment, the races are very well choreographed. The starts with a boy named Speed, obsessed with racing. And he looks up to his brother as his hero. But his brother left the family. And was later embroiled in a lot of news that are considered as unscrupulous in the racing arena.
Tainted by the bad reputation, the boy grew up to step into his brother's racing shoes, determined to right a wrong that everyone put upon the family.Being every bit as good as his brother. But Speed is constantly haunted by the bad reputation that hangs over his brother's death.One day, he was invited by a rich tycoon to join his ranks of drivers to try and propel him to greater heights in the racing arena. But Speed rejected the offer on reasons that the company does not meet his goals of wanting to race fair.From then on, the rich tycoon did everything he could to diminish whatever credibility of Speed and his family business. There after ensues one exciting race after another as Speed tries to get even.The rendered scenes... | |

| What if Keanu in Speed Racer? | | I read an article in imdb that Keanu was offered the main role in the speed racer movie. This is understandable as the W*** (hard to spell) brothers who directed the Matrix Trilogy also direct this one.

around fun to watch The actors were all great, I've always been a John
Goodman fan. This movie was really intense and expressionistic,and I loved

| | Anime vs. Speed Racer | | Ok...now before all you anime fans decide to ambush me and clobber me to pieces, I would like to say that this is only a comparison of what anime characters look like and how, in my opinion, they seem to resemble one of my favorite '70s cartoon characters named Speed Racer. I had just responded to a discussion about an anime avatar and thought it would be interesting to see if anyone else notices the resemblance. | Emile Hirsch cast as Speed Racer | | I heard today that Emile Hirsch (sp) was cast as Speed Racer. Hirsch played the character based on Jesse James Hollwood in Alpha Dog. Do you agree with this casting? | |
| | Cartoon vs. Anime | | Between American Cartoons and Japanese anime, which one do you prefer more? Usually Japanese anime have better character designs and stories, They also have different Target markets from kids, to teens to grown ups. American Cartoons usually have ugly drawings but there usually funnier and less perverted, (anime always have some perversion on it) There were Cartoons with good illustration though but not as phenomenal as anime. Both Cartoons and Anime have a more mature and serious plots sometimes. Anyway I was a bit upset that American animators started to make Cartoon characters with Anime like appearance. I do have my fair share of Cartoons and anime though but I usually preferred anime but I don't think kids should be watching them because of the mature language and violence. | |
