Have you ever walked into a clear glass door when you were not paying attention?
I did...but it was when i was in hurry while on call and a person ahead of me, while going out close the already opened gate unknowingly...
Do you prefer drinking from Glass, Aluminum, Paper, or Plastic containers?
I can't stand to drink from aluminum containers, and I prefer drinking from glass, but I will drink from plastic. What about you? Do you have any preferences? Why?
Micro waved water - a MUST read
A 26-year old decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water and put it in the microwave to heat it up (something that he had done numerous times before). I am not sure how long he set the timer for, but he told me he wanted to bring the water to a boil. When the timer shut the oven off, he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he note d that the water was not boiling, but instantly the water in the cup "blew up" into his face. The cup remained intact until he threw it out of his hand but all the water had flown out into his face due to the build up of energy. His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face, which may leave scarring. He also may have lost partial sight in his left eye. While at the hospital, the doctor who was attending to him stated that this is fairly common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the cup to diffuse the energy such as: a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc. It is however a much safer choice to boil the water in a teakettle.GENERAL ELECTRICALS response:Thanks for...
Favorite cup ...?
No, this is not a lewd discussion inquiring about your favorite cup size for a BRA, but some of us do have a favorite cup or glass to drink out of. What's yours?I usually like to drink out of a heavy pint glass because it's almost the ideal size for me and it's easy to hold and such... Once in awhile I will use a smaller plastic cup or a larger cup. I also like to use this Clear Glass with a tiny blue and red design that was my grandmom's set that I got when she passed away. How about you?uld never be heated in a microwave oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the cup to diffuse the energy such as: a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc. It is however a much safer choice to boil the water in a teakettle.GENERAL ELECTRICALS response:Thanks for contacting us. I will be happy to assist you. The e-mail that you received is correct.Microwaved water and other liquids do not always bubble when they reach the boiling point. They can actually get superheated and not bubble at all. The superheated liquid will bubble up out of the cup when it is moved or when something like a spoon or tea bag is put...
Great idea for silk flower/fall arrangements
I had bought some fall silk flowers last year at $.10 a bunch and it was time to get them out and enjoy them. But all I had were clear glass vases and I didn't want to see the plastic stems. I sure didn't want to spend any money on those attractive but expensive glass balls that look so nice in vases, either, since this is a very, very tight month for me. I was looking for some nice paper to cover them with when I came across my son's gloves that he left here last Christmas and got a brainstorm. I stuck one in a vase, fingers down, and put the silk flowers in the glove. It looks great! Check it out in the picture, it has a nice woodsy look to it and didn't cost me a thing. Only too a couple of seconds to make a problem vase look really nice!
How long do you keep your secret?
I am in the situation hoping to find someone right for me. There have been time I have told my secret to men in my life and they would be scare and then avoid me and not want anything with me at all. Then give me the look as if I am the yuckiest stain on the clear glass there ever seen. I cannot get rid of the stain it permanent on me. I am use to my stain on me and been dealing with on my own. I have my days with it but i know what to do to care for it. ( im not going to say what it is exactly on here)I told my best friends too but they know i will find someone regardless of what I have too. That the stain will be no big deal to the men I ever find in my life. The question when do you tell your partner about it after marriage or before??? or do you tell them later after being honest with your partner for long while. Do you think any secret like the stain you could have could get away without not telling it at all. I could do with out saying it at all. but then it can be bothersome to me because my body fight with it hard everyday. So do you tell ur secret or keep it lock up forever? My secret involve with health issues.
Hurricanes - a word if you will
Hurricane season is upon us once again and a lot of people still haven't recovered from Hurricane Ike last year. I survived Hurricane Ike and wrote in my blog about it.http://grou.ps/artistsden/blogs/18458A friend of mine in Tennessee wrote a topic earlier today about bad storms and I saw responses ranging from hate to love and about power outages. It got me to thinking about how people react to storms and some of the things I witnessed just last year. Personally, I love big storms as it is natures fury at its best. But I also use common sense and respect these potential killers. The aftermath of a storm can be fascinating and dangerous! Stay away from downed power lines, don't drive into water of undetermined depth and if you use a generator, put it outside!!! Several whole families lost their lives to carbon monoxide poisoning from generators, drowning in their vehicles and getting electrocuted after surviving the hurricane! If you are in a bad storm, chances are the power is going to go out and you will be left sitting in the dark but have you also considered, water wells stop pumping and if you live in an area where a pumpstation moves your city water supply to...
Watching 'REAL WORLD: Secrets Revealed', things I never knew
I grew up watching the Real World I think since Chicago and reruns of previous seasons but there was plenty of things going on behind the scenes that I was totally oblivious to. That one of the earliest directors had gotten involved with one of the castmates and they developed a relationship, he was fired, and ever since the castmates and crew/directors no longer able to talk. That was sad because when one of the late castmate's father died the crew behind the scenes had to wait 3 MONTHS just to give their condolensces. The showers in a later season were made all clear glass with some frosted glass only in the middle section but they later discovered that it didn't cover very much at all so the cameramen had to zoom in very close from then on just to keep from exposing too much in the showeroom. There was a black phone in early shows (not sure if it still exist) that was used just to speak to the director to ask permission to do ANYTHING and if they wanted to leave they had to have a cameraman sent out to have them microphoned. Anybody know any of this? Did you catch the show?

Does your hummingbird feeder drip all day?
I purchased a hummingbird feeder about a month ago. It's clear glass with some pink running through it. I mixed up the solution 1 part sugar, 4 parts water and have hung it next to a basket of hot pink petunias. So far I have see one hummingbird, and a swarm of wasps feeding from it. I'm not sure it's worth the headaches of refilling it every week, just to have sugar water dripping on the railing around my front porch continuously. So, is it normal to have the feeder dripping all day and potentially attracting more pests like wasps and ants to only see one hummingbird?
